Cloud-driven Transformation - Digital & ERP Strategy & Architecture, and Operate Models & Processes

Problem Statement – one of the largest Global Education client organisations was hammering a significant fixed-cost due to its dispersed global operations & legacy aging inefficient & unreliable IT Systems that were not correctly integrated, and multiple dispersed Data Centre locations. The remit was to reduce cost, improve operational capabilities (People, Process, Systems), and improve services & CustomerExperience.

This Global Education client Organisation engaged us to develop & implement its ‘Global Transformation & Consolidation Strategy’ and Planning & Execution encompassing its People, Operating Models, Processes, Systems, and Data Centres. We conducted a full review of the Client’s business requirements, people skills & capabilities, operating models & processes, applications, systems, infrastructure, networks, security, and data centre, and made recommendations

We identified opportunities for improvement, designed a programme of work to underpin the rollout & delivery, organisational structure, people skills & capabilities. We carefully conducted a comprehensive “Strategy Review & Audit” and made recommendations for improvements. Our Specific responsibilities & activities, included (this is just a short summary):

  • Definition & execution of Transformation ‘Vision Strategy & Roadmap’, aligning technology with the client business needs.
  • Effectively performed a 360-degree strategic reviews, presenting recommendations at up to CxO level, and setup the agreed programme for successes e.g. People, Processes, Systems/Tools.
  • Led the discovery, definition of requirements, architecture & design, ERP applications & systems integration, and Data Centres
  • Developed technology strategy underpinning CIO ‘Key Principles’ encompassing Oracle ERP transformation programme.
  • Developed Digital ICT Strategies e.g. ERP, Systems Integration Cloud & Data Centre Transformation, Cyber Security Strategies.
  • Coordinated/managed a large-scale RFP/BID/RFI for a global ERP Vendor selection to replace the legacy ERP Systems.
  • Coordinated/managed Tier-1 Vendor/SI commercials/Pricing contractual deliverables with IBM, Accenture, and Oracle, and Contractual delivery assurance to agreed Governance,
  • Lead programme team of 170+ consulting staff IBM, Oracle, Accenture, TCS, AWS headed up with 12 programme reports.
  • Tracked multi-vendor delivery progress and reported at C-Level Exec Board and Executive Stakeholders.

Successfully delivered Transformation Programme encompassing: People, Operating Models, Processes, Oracle to SAP/ERP migration, Applications migration e.g. HR, Finance, Supplychain, and Data Centres.

Reduced the year-on-year OPEX Costs by 20%, and Saved £13m by Consolidating 11 x Data Centre to Four Data Centres.
